Rookie backstop Pedro Pagés' first career MLB blast couldn't have come at a better time for the St. Louis Cardinals. The 25-year-old saved his heroic effort for the eighth inning, smacking a sweeper over the left-field wall to break the scoreless tie and give his Club the 1-0 lead. Even with the team scoring two more in the 3-0 win over the Chicago Cubs, Pagés' homer was enough to get out of Wrigley Field with the triumph. It surely made it sweeter with his family in attendance.
