Atlanta Braves fans have had no shortage of moments to celebrate throughout their 2023 Major League Baseball campaign, and after a seven-strikeout performance from Spencer Strider last night, the Club has a new modern era single-season strikeout king. En route to picking up his Major League Baseball leading 20th win of the year, Strider passed John Smoltz's previous record of 276 with his third punchout of the night. Impressively, Strider's season tally landed at a jaw-dropping 281, and what's more, it took Smoltz 253 2/3 innings to set the previous mark, while Strider hurled just 186 2/3 this season.
