Carrying the longest active hitting streak in Major League Baseball heading into Friday night's contest, San Diego Padres second baseman Ha-Seong Kim knew his next hit would be an important one back in his home country. Kim's sixth inning single extended his hit streak to 16 games, tying for the longest ever by a Korean-born player. "All the Korean Major Leaguers that played here, I respect them. I watched them, and I wanted to be like them" Kim said through interpreter Leo Bae.
