As Pablo López walked to the mound in the ninth inning, he was showered with cheers from the 19,692 fans at Target Field. The veteran pitcher's career-night on the mound had the opportunity to be even better if he could get through the final inning scoreless. The hurler did just that, mowing down the next three batters and earning himself his first MLB complete game shutout. López was nearly flawless in his showing, striking out a career-high 12 batters with no walks on 100 pitches.
