In Tuesday night's contest between the Kansas City Royals and the Chicago White Sox, rookie catcher MJ Melendez hit the first home run of his Major League Baseball career. Being up 1-0 in the sixth inning, Melendez crushed a slider from White Sox hurler Tanner Banks, sending it just over the wall in right-center field. This solo blast ended up being the game-winning run, as the Royals bested the White Sox, 2-1.
