Germán Márquez was brilliant in Tuesday night's matchup between the Colorado Rockies and the Pittsburgh Pirates, as he fell just three outs shy of a no-hitter. The 26-year-old hurler left hitters clueless all night with his diverse repertoire of pitches until Ka'ai Tom singled to right field in the ninth inning to break up what would have been the eighth no-hitter of the 2021 MLB season. Márquez would go on to fire his second career complete-game shutout with five strikeouts to pave the way for the 8-0 victory.
