Jacob deGrom continues to float in uncharted waters after yet another brilliant outing, a 4-0 New York Mets victory at Petco Park. The 32-year-old flamethrower held the loaded Padres lineup to no runs as he fanned 11 batters over seven innings of work. Jacob has not allowed more than one earned run in any of his first nine starts this season, which marks an MLB first. The DeLand, Florida, native also now owns a 0.62 ERA and a 0.57 WHIP this season, both of which are the lowest of all time in the Modern Era of Baseball through any pitcher's first nine starts.
