In the first five seasons of his MLB career, Ji-Man has exclusively hit from the left side of the plate. That was until Sunday's game vs. the Blue Jays. Facing southpaw starter Anthony Kay, a right-handed Choi clobbered a 429-foot solo homer in the sixth inning, giving his Rays teammates the jumpstart needed to complete a 6-5, 10-inning comeback victory. Choi had dabbled in switch-hitting while in the minors and playing winter ball but had not done so in a game in over five years.
